November 6th
**Corry wins Route #6 Cup with 21-6 victory over Union City. Union City came out strong and took a 6-0 lead on Willie Mitchell's 19-yard run off the left side. Corry answered with a 9-play 64-yard drive when Sophomore Paul Flick carried the ball in for a 25-yard touchdown run. Robert Slava added the PAT to set the halftime score at 7-6. To begin the second half Corry went on a big 16-play 65-yard drive that again ended on a Flick touchdown this time from 5-yards out. The PAT failed making it 13-6. The Beavers put the game away in the fourth quarter when Sophomore Quarterback Brenden Carney hit Senior Tight End Craig Jaquith on a 3-yard touchdown on a play action boot pass. Carney's pass to Senior Flanker Kiel Wolf for the 2-point conversion set the final at 21-6. The Beavers totaled 202 yards on the ground lead by Flick who had 159. Flick finished the season with 944 yards rushing. The Corry Defense was lead by Brandan Eck who had two interception. At the end of the game Corry AD Bill West presented Senior Captains Trevor Kressler and Tim Miller with the Route #6 Cup a newly designed traveling trophy given to the winning team in this new rivalry. The trophy was donated by Popo and Great Lake Custom Graphics.
**The annual season ending banquet will be held Wednesday @ 5:30PM
October 31st
**Corry loses Quad-A Crossover game to Erie Central 21-0. Corry had a great scoring opportunity early in the second quarter but came away with nothing. Central blocked a field goal attempted by the Beavers and drove the ball 93 yards on 10 plays for the first score of the game. A special teams mistake on the ensuing kickoff allowed the Falcons to score the second touchdown of the quarter. In the second quarter Corry only had the ball for 1:33 and ran only 4 plays. Central's Anthony Rose added a third quarter TD to set the final. Defensively the Beavers were led by Sophomore Linebackers Nick Leofsky and Paul Flick with 9 1/2 and 8 1/2 Tackles respectively. Senior Strong Safety Trevor Kressler and Junior Free Safety Will McCray each had 6 1/2. Senior Defensive Lineman Matt Mitchell had six. Leofsky also caused a fumble and Senior Cornerback Jarod Dodd added an interception in the first half. Flick rushed for 124 yards setting his season total at 821 yards going into the season finale with the Bears of Union City.
**Saturday morning the JV team won a tight 8-6 victory over Central to finish the season strong at 3-5-1. Great job players and coaches.
October 28th
**Middle school team finishes strong with 26-8 win over Union City.
Congratulations to all players and coaches on the victory. It was well deserved.
October 24th
**Beavers lose to State Ranked Strong Vincent 46-6. Corry managed 12 first downs and got inside the Vincent 20-yard line 4 times but only came away with six points in the contest. The Beavers were lead offensively by Paul Flick who had 87 yards and Robert Slava who had 34 yards on the ground. Senior Flanker Kiel Wolf had one catch for 23 yards. The Beavers did not turn the ball over in the game. Junior Defensive Tackle Nick Roussin caused and recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter. Junior Defensive Back Will McCray lead the defense with six tackles, while Wolf added an interception for the Beavers.
**Corry @ Erie Central this Friday 10/29 (Erie's Vet Stadium)
October 17th
**Beavers fall to Lancers of General McLane 41-20. Corry rolled up 16 First Downs and over 300 yards on the ground against the Lancers (6-1) that came into the game as a team ranked honorable mention in the latest PIAA Class AAA State rankings. The Beavers were lead by Sophomore tailback Paul Flick who rushed for 242 yards on 37 carries and Junior Fullback Robert Slava who added 82 yards. The Beavers offensive line which consists of Junior Center/ Right Guard Nick Carlson, Junior Right Guard Jared Durlin, Senior Center Brandon Edwards, Junior Right Tackle Nick Roussin, Senior Left Guard Tim Miller, and Senior Left Tackle Jesse Christensen did a great job at the point of attack. Senior Tight End Craig Jaquith and Senior reserve Fullback Gerad Beard also played a big role in the rushing attack. Flick scored the first two touchdowns for the visiting Beavers, while Slava added Corry's final touchdown. Flick now leads District 10 Region 5 in rushing with 616 yards on the season. Nick Carlson led the Corry Defense with 7 Tackles. The Beavers also recovered 3 Lancer fumbles.
** Saturday morning the Beaver and the Lancers battled to a 6-6 tie in JV action. Kyle Gates scored the only Beaver touchdown.
**Beavers home Friday on Parent's Night against State Ranked Erie Strong Vincent (6-1)
October 13th
**Corry wins Homecoming game 35-6. Trailing 6-0 the Beavers got a big Kickoff return to the East 25-yard line from Senior Trevor Kressler. Brenden Carney then threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Senior Tight End Craig Jaquith, Paul Flick's run made it 8-6. With 4:55 to go in the second quarter Corry made it 15-6 with a Paul Flick 2 -yard run and a Robert Slava PAT. Midway through the 3rd quarter Flick scored on another 2-yard jaunt, with Slava again adding the PAT. After a three and out by the defense Junior Will McCray returned an East punt 45-yards for a Beaver touchdown. The Beavers scored again with 10:59 left in the game when Kressler's big punt return set up Junior fullback Robert Slava's touchdown run from 4-yards out. After the touchdown however, many East players began getting emotional. There were many penalty flags thrown and some the East players were ejected, this prompted the Game Officials to call the game. The Corry Defense came up big giving up just 4 first downs. Junior Defensive End Nick Carlson led the team with 11 Tackles including 5 for loss and 2 sacks.
**Monday night the Beaver JV team completed the sweep of East High with a 16-0 win over the Warriors. Freshman Aaron Gluvna returned an interception for a touchdown for the Beavers.
October 6th
**Corry falls to Oilers 38-14. The Oilers got on the scoreboard early with a 38 yard drive set up a by special teams miscue by the Beavers. The Beavers came right back however with a score of their own when Justin Nutt scored from 3 yards out to make it 8-6. The Oilers (4-1) got on the board again with 3:33 to go before the half to make it 16-6. Oil City then returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a TD to make it 24-6. The Beavers got on the scoreboard at the end of the third quarter when Craig Jaquith returned a fumble caused by Jared Durlin 33-yards for a Beaver TD. Brenden Carney connected with Jaquith for the two point conversion to set the score at 24-14. The Oilers scored two more TD's to make the final 38-14. Justin Nutt lead the team in rushing with 77 yards on 11 carries. Junior Jared Durlin lead the defense with 5 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and two forced fumbles. Senior Craig Jaquith recovered two fumbles returning one for a TD. Sophomore Paul Flick lead the team with 11 total tackles.
**Oil City wins the JV game 51-6. The Beavers scored on their first drive of the night when Thomas Ellsworth scored on a 20-yard TD run. The Oilers then scored 51 unanswered points to set the final. Thomas Ellsworth rushed for 121 yards on the night.
**Beavers homecoming versus East Friday
September 30th
**The Beavers lost 28-20 to Meadville. The Bulldogs moved out to a 28-6 lead early in the third quarter but the Beavers battled back within a touchdown with about three minutes to go in the game. The Beavers were lead by Sophomore Brendan Carney making his first career start at quarterback. Brendan completed 7 of 14 passes for 127 yards including a 56 -yarder to fellow sophomore Branden Eck. Sophomore Tailback Paul Flick threw a 71-yard TD pass to Junior Will McCray on a halfback pitch pass early in the second quarter to get Corry on the board. Flick also scored the Beavers other touchdown, he also lead the team in rushing.
**Bulldogs to much for Beavers in JV action. Bulldogs win 24-12
September 21st
**At Warren friday night the Beavers continued to show great improvements. The 35-22 score was not an indication of how well the Beavers played. Turnovers and special teams mistakes continue to hurt the team, with Warren scoring 29 points off of Corry miscues. The beavers did have their biggest output in years offensively, totally 320 yards of total offense. Leading the way was sophomore Paul Flick with 160 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a 64-yard run late in the fourth quarter. Corry's other TD came on a pass from Trevor Kressler to Kiel Wolf just before halfime.
**The JV team lost a hard fought 12-0 game to the Dragon JV team on monday night.
**The Beavers are back home this friday against (0-3) Meadville
September 14th
**Beavers show more signs of improvement in 47-0 loss to Titusville.
**Rockets beat the Beavers 22-8 in JV action. Aaron Gluvna returned a punt
for the lone beaver score.
**On the road at Warren Friday night, JV team will be home monday 7:00PM
September 4th
**Beavers fall in opener 34-6 to Franklin. Justin Nutt scored the teams only
touchdown.
**JV team wins 18-8. A great TEAM effort by the young Beavers.
